My researches led me to Zenotel, and let me tell you I could not be happier of my choice. But guess what, it did not have to be perfect, and I planned to make the best out of it.
I also would have preferred some decent springy weather instead of the pouring rain. I searched and searched for a local getaway since I am a firm believer of being a tourist in your own country and Lebanon does not lack the options! I had many places in mind, perfectly I wanted this get away with ma Chacha and Sunshiny, too bad none of them was able to make it. It was more like a day-dream, what I had in mind, the prefect image of how I want my birthday to be. Only positive is that they gave me a refund and a discount but otherwise it was a huge waste of my time.… So down to the spa I go only to find an 'out of order' sign in front of the jacuzzi room, water dripping from the ceiling and, again, more construction workers.And to top it off their 'earth restaurant' had no fresh juices and only 2 salads and a jacket potato as vegetarian options.so much for healthy! Needless to say I checked out the next day. BUT, they assure me, you still have use of the spa. This was regardless to the fact that I had also emailed them directly (no answer), talked to them over the phone the day before AND had face to face contact with them whilst they were billing me. So down to reception I return only to be told that they had been unable to inform me of the construction work sue to the fact that my booking was done via.

I arrived to the hotel without particular problems, checked in at reception, where I paid for my 2 nights and headed to my room.so far so good! But then I open the curtain only to find a construction site in full swing where the infinity pool area was supposed to be. I was really looking forward to my visit here and to a much needed break.but unfortunately I was extremely let down. Other than that, location was magnificent, rooms were very comfortable and clean. The waiter managed to get us some things from the kitchen but they had already ran out of most food. Not to mention that we went to have breakfast at 10 as we knew the buffet will close by 11, but there was barely anything to eat. Worse of all, was our Sunday, as we agreed to relax and enjoy the wedding music and were looking forward for a relaxing sunday at the pool, we found out that the hotel allows non hotel guests to enter their very tiny pool for small fees.Which lead to having many kids running around and a very crowded pool. Not only did they close the pool, but it was too loud until 2 am in the morning. As soon as we arrived we got informed that the pool wll close at 4 pm (2 hours after our check in time), because of a wedding that they new about months ahead and failed to inform us while booking and confirming 2 days before coming. I went to this hotel for a relaxing week ens, at the pool. I would give this place a second chance sometime next year. It's zenotel ! we need to relax, i didn't come to hear the kids screaming and playing ! it ruins the concept. we are not in the stone age era anymore and there should be a time frame to kick off the kids from the pool a lot of couples such myself didn't feel comfortable. Last but not least, with all due respect, "veilkini swimsuit" shouldn't be allowed. The staff in the restaurant next to the pool are young kids, they need to be more professional. The gym area is really hilarious, needs definitely improvements.

However, toufic, a very friendly and professional staff member in Zenotel suggested to change the room but i was only staying for 3 days so it wasn't worth it. My only issue that made my night uncomfortable was the AC that was making a lot of noise. The housekeeping are very friendly and the room's size was perfect for a couple. The breakfast is nice, the dining experience was good. The location is not that far from Beirut (45minutes). Well, if you are looking for a retreat, i think Zenotel is the place to be. Hotels near Lebanese International University (LIU).
